AMD’s Latest AI and Power Abilities Alter Microsoft’s Vision

AMD and Microsoft demonstrated how new services and compute abilities across cloud and generative AI, Protected Computing, Cloud Computing, and smarter, more intelligent PCs are made possible by AMD products

“AMD’s latest AI regardless of where from the cloud to business applications and end point devices all underpinned by our CPUs, GPUs, stimulants and AI engines.”

The AMD Instinct MI300X is used in Microsoft’s new Azure ND MI300x v5 Virtual Machine (VM) series, which is designed for AI applications. Azure is the first cloud to adopt the new accelerator

The new virtual machines (VMs) are a component of Microsoft’s diverse infrastructure, which supports AI innovation for businesses worldwide and gives customers more efficiency and scalability options

In comparison to the previous generation of AMD EPYC-powered virtual machines, these new Microsoft VMs will offer better pricing options, up to 20% enhanced efficiency for broad-application and memory-intensive VMs, and up to 2x faster performance of the CPU for compute-optimized VMs

AMD is also showcasing the Azure NGads V620 family of virtual machines (VMs) at Ignite, which are presently available to the public. It is a brand-new GPU-accelerated virtual machine (VM) for visualization from the Azure N-series family

Applications that need proportionately more GPU resources per virtual machine (VM) in order to support heavier workloads or more users per VM are the focus of the NGads V620 series
