Samsung Electronics, the world leader in advanced memory technology, announced today that it has begun sampling its 256-gigabyte (GB) SD Express microSD cards
Samsung is displaying the industry’s first 256GB SD Express microSD card with speeds four times faster than the current interface
Previous microSD cards with UHS-1 interfaces have 104MB/s read speeds. SD Express was able to improve these rates to 985MB/s
SD Express microSD card can read data at 800MB/s, 1.4 times quicker than SATA solid-state drives (560 MB/s) and more than four times faster than UHS-1 memory cards (200 MB/s)
This microSD card has eight layers of the company’s 8th-generation 1-terabit (Tb) V-NAND
Samsung produced a 1-terabyte microSD card to enable high-capacity packing previously only possible with SSDs
